Application Process
1. Surface Preparation
Ensure the surface is dry, clean, and free from dust, loose particles, oil, grease, or any contaminants. Remove all loose paint and flaking material. Fill major cracks or holes with suitable crack filler. The surface should be at Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition—damp but not wet.
2. Mixing
Add Waterproof Putty powder to clean water gradually while stirring continuously. Mix thoroughly until you achieve a smooth, lump-free paste with butter-like consistency. The paste should be workable but not too runny. Mix only the quantity you can apply within working time.
3. First Coat Application
Apply the first coat evenly using a putty knife or trowel on the prepared surface at SSD condition. Work the putty into the surface, filling pinholes and minor imperfections. Spread uniformly to achieve desired thickness. Allow to dry for 4-6 hours depending on ambient temperature and humidity.
4. Second Coat (If Required)
After the first coat has dried, apply a second coat if necessary to achieve optimal smoothness and coverage. Leave the surface at least overnight for complete drying before applying paint. Although not necessary, you may lightly sand the surface for extra smoothness.
5. Painting
Once the putty has completely dried (minimum overnight), apply your chosen interior or exterior paint according to manufacturer’s recommendations. The waterproof putty provides an excellent base that enhances paint coverage and durability.
